Known History

JUANITA was built for Andrew McIlwraith of Salcome to a design by his son, Ian McIlwraith.  She was sailed by Ian and his sister Elizabeth Jennings, both of Salcombe. Elizabeth appeared to later own JUANITA and sailed her in many races with great success.

The Morgan Giles job book shows that the keel was modified in 1929 and unspecified alterations were made by Elizabeth Jennings in 1934.

It is believed that JUANITA was sold to somebody in Plymouth and she was consequently wrecked in a gale.
