This video of the Sail Training Yachts built by Morgan Giles was shot by Alec Collyer. Alec's Father, Kenneth Collyer was the chief designer for Francis Morgan Giles at the boatyard in Teignmouth.
The yachts here are two of the five built for the Britannia Royal Naval College in 1958. Those shown in the video are 'Leopard' and 'Gryphis'. The occasion was an invitation by the owners to the Morgan Giles family and others related to the company to join them for a sail in these classic boats.
It is a testament to Morgan Giles design and workmanship that these boats are still in such remarkable condition and it is hoped that they remain so for many years to come.

The Jolie Brise arrives in Teignmouth for the first time in 90 years, joined by a flotilla of boats.

The 56ft-long ship, which won the inaugural 600-mile Fastnet Race, has strong links to the town.
