Known History

Originall Built by Frank Morgan Giles and named DIANA for a Danish Owner who raced her in the Solent in 1927.  She was lent to the Royal Thames Yacht Club as the British contender for the Scandinavian Gold Cup, sailed for at Long Island, USA.  For this she was re-registered and renamed ENGLISH ROSE and was sailed by Frank Morgan Giles and his wife Ivy in the crew, coming third to Norway and Sweeden, which both had the first ever genoas. Renamed DANA for various owners she was eventually bought from the Danish Yachting Museum for complete restoration.

The intention of the Morgan Giles Heriatge Project was to bring DANA back to the UK but she has now passed to a new owner in Poland. The intention is DANA will eventually become the flagship of the Polish 6 metre fleet.
