Two Morgan Giles HDMLs were captured by German Forces during the evacuation of Tolbruk in 1942.
Two Minesweepers were built by Morgan Giles in the 1950s as part of a NATO programme to counter mines, which it was believed would be laid by the Soviet Union in western European coastal and inshore waters in the event of a war.
Built for the Admiralty and commissioned as HMS Tresham
1966 Sold to Reardon Smith Nautical College Cardiff. Renamed Margherita I
1966 - 1994 Employed as Navigational Training Ship
1994 Purchased by Vosper-Thornycrift and completely refitted in the conpany yard at Woolston, Southampton. Renamed Margherita.
1994 Employed as seamanship training vessel by AV Seawork Ltd, a subsidery of Vosper Thornycroft.1
Further history unknown but now believed to be named 'Nathick'.
